Hey guys, I've been looking everywhere for solution, this is actually for my friend's computer, not mine. My current machine: 1. "Nettop" from 2009: running xubuntu 16.04, atom 330, 2GB DDR2, 500GB HDD. 2. Acer E5-574G: dual boot xubuntu 16.04 and win10, 6200u, 12GB ram, 240GB SSD. 1st one is of course not using an uefi bios, so install is really simple, just install and good to go 2nd one is using uefi, but still not hard at all, just put grubx64.efi as trusted in uefi menu **Actual question start here:** My friend's laptop (Acer Z1402-31ZJ)- i3-5005U,4GB RAM,1TB HDD After installing Ubuntu 16.04, it boot directly to windows 10. I know that's normal, so I tell him to add grubx64.efi as trusted. But this is the laptop eufi menu. I have no clue. Seriously. Thanks for the help in advance. The Ubuntu setup should have added Grub, but it seems to skip to Windows 10 instead.

The laptop features secure boot key management exclusively when the secure boot mode is configured as custom.

Occasionally the system records a boot due to thinking it's the sole operating system.

Make sure the settings are saved properly so they aren’t lost. The system offers limited choices, and changing passwords isn’t available.

It seems you need to reinstall GRUB once more.

When the OS wasn’t installed in UEFI mode, Ubuntu might have auto-installed in BIOS. After changing to UEFI, it won’t show up. It’s best to reinstall Ubuntu with the current UEFI settings or use a live CD to re-chroot and reinstall GRUB. The first method is simpler and faster. If you’re still having issues, I’m sorry—I was away on holiday when this happened.

Ubuntu is running in UEFI mode and everything seems correct. To ensure it boots into Ubuntu instead of Windows, you need to adjust EasyUEFI settings so Ubuntu comes first. But each time it boots, it reverts back to Windows. There’s currently no permanent solution known.
