Set up a different Windows version on the second drive.
Hello, your Asus Maximus xiii is running Windows 10 on the M.2 drive after upgrading to Windows 11 with a digital license tied to your Microsoft account. If you want a second Windows on another HDD, installing Windows there will use the same key. The first Windows won’t be deactivated, but both can run with the same key on the same machine. You don’t need a new key unless you plan to use multiple keys for different devices.
According to the licensing terms, you must obtain a fresh Windows license if you switch drives. Using multiple Windows on the same key can lead to deactivation and potential blacklisting. You may need two licenses, but support will not assist if your key is flagged. Why do you require two Windows versions together?
Thanks for the response. I actually aim for a clean setup with Windows and my main app 'Cubase' only, leaving other programs on the secondary system. I've noticed that fresh Windows with just Cubase running smoothly and quickly, while other apps like Office and Adobe work well on the main machine.
