This technique was used to restrict CPU performance at its maximum setting. Modern chips now support both base and turbo clocking. Following the instructions above, your laptop remains locked at a base clock of 2.6GHz while the turbo clock stays at 3.5GHz. To change this, you’d need to adjust the settings manually or through firmware updates.

You're asking why you're aiming for maximum performance, checking if your system can handle the heat, and looking at how things behave when things are running at full power.

for tasks like streaming games and software requiring strong CPU power! my temperatures sit between 40-45°C, but when streaming games, mine spike to 70-80°C. That’s a lot of inconsistent clock speeds during demanding work—games begin to stutter! Audio workstation programs can’t deliver clean sound in real time under those conditions.

In the search bar, select "edit power plan." At the bottom, find Advanced Power Settings and continue scrolling. Adjust the minimum processor state to 100% and ensure the system cooling policy is enabled.

If the CPU speed remains stuck at its lowest setting and can't reach turbo mode, you must enter your BIOS settings, turn off turbo control, and align the processor frequency with your maximum turbo level while tweaking voltages as needed.
