It suggests they set the frame rate to 60 for consistency across platforms.

The low tick rate servers in BF4 likely limited the FPS.

In theory, you should aim for better hit registration instead of getting blocked by walls. They may slow down the game speed, but from what I understand, the server tick rate doesn’t affect your FPS or monitor refresh rate.

It's quite unusual, isn't it? Used to be completely unaware of this. Now it's everywhere. Could it be because modern bullets move faster and farther? I tried playing BF4 at 60 ticks last week, but still got blocked easily. That's a pretty low bar for myself.

It could be your connection issue. I've experienced this on servers far from each other, especially French and Russian ones. *Note:* But sometimes I accidentally fire a whole mag without any hit detection, which might mean Battlefield 4 isn't fully fixed yet.

German host, consistent 50 pings, no sudden jumps. Others also report issues with it in BF4.

Consider that 60 Hz offers a significant boost compared to BF4's initial tickrate, yet many fast-paced FPS titles run at 120 Hz or higher. Quake Live, CS:GO, etc.—60 Hz remains a baseline for this genre. Besides speed, several elements influence how you feel you were hit from a corner. Perhaps your latency is low, or the opponent's ping was high. It could be a technical glitch in the kill cam, or server-side issues at play. Sometimes newer titles still lag behind older ones on synchronization, leading developers to prioritize polished features over raw performance. Players react with frustration and post their concerns online.
