Everyone using the latest PUBG test server experienced a noticeable improvement in performance. Unfortunately, my setup didn’t match his setup—my machine has an i5-4690k with 4.4ghz, 16GB HyperX DDR3 RAM, and a GTX 980 with AIO. My friend uses the same CPU but without overclocking; he has 12GB RAM and a GTX 970, achieving about 25% more FPS. If I’m at 100 FPS, he’s hitting 125 or higher. Could anyone explain why this difference occurs? Also, while checking MSI Afterburner during gameplay, my clock speed stayed steady around 1454 MHz, but it changed to 1450 MHz on PUBG servers.

Performance discussions during an alpha phase are tough in PUBG. Mostly you compare your usual FPS to the average on the test server. The latest patch made shadows active, which can affect how smooth things run. Personally, I didn’t see a big jump in top performance, but I did notice some issues I had with the regular version—like FPS fluctuations. Overall, my frame rates stayed more consistent.

It's true, but my friend's setup is almost identical to mine, yet he achieves significantly higher FPS. That seems unusual. Even though it's an alpha title, most people claim the recent update brings a major jump in frame rate and performance. But I don't agree.

Yes to SSD, yes 388.13. I use Reshape on both. I haven't checked average FPS with software yet.

I recommend using a dedicated game analysis tool or software that tracks frame rates, such as GameStream Analyzer or custom scripts with tools like GStreamer.

A simple example like fraps works well for testing purposes.
