It’s been about a week, but it’s become more frequent lately. It usually happens when the laptop is under stress—like when running heavy tasks—and it stops unexpectedly. I think it might be related to overheating from within, not just the CPU or GPU. It only occurs occasionally and can disappear for days, but then it comes back. I’m running out of solutions.

Does the device ever stop connecting to the charger? Has it powered down while the charger was connected? This might indicate a current draw issue or an underlying problem causing an immediate shutdown.

It only occurs when connected to a power source, and I mainly use it while plugged in. I’m not sure if this is due to current draw since it has two 280W bricks, though it’s possible the CPU and GPU together use around 400W under heavy load. There’s no problem with charging ports, but if it keeps happening often, consider limiting power usage.

Power delivery instability can lead to BSODs or abrupt shutdowns, which I've experienced personally. It's possible temperature fluctuations are contributing too, maybe due to manufacturing variances. How quickly can you restart the laptop—do you need a cooldown before powering it back on?

It doesn’t reach TJMax from either the CPU or GPU. I can restart it right away and it stops shutting down more frequently afterward.

It seems you're dealing with a complex issue. You haven't noticed it stopping when idle or performing simple tasks—only when under stress? I don't see another likely explanation except testing a RAM stick or swapping the motherboard, though the latter isn't practical for most laptops.

It rarely occurs under load. My guess is the overheating came from the board, since it didn’t seem to happen before I installed the water-cooled heatsink. I haven’t run any extended tests yet to confirm it works with the air-cooled version, though the last time I thought it was fixed by adjusting thermal pads it performed well for weeks and even during a full stress test for several days without issues. (I only used the air-cooled heatsink briefly because it kept crashing often in quick succession—something that didn’t happen with the air-cooled one). If the problem returns, I might consider pulling the RAM. It’s still technically covered under warranty, so if I can pinpoint the board, they could swap it out.
