Checking suggestions for a server host is wise. Hosting both Minecraft and Rust servers at the same time could work but requires careful planning.

I would opt for an inexpensive computer and connect it to your network using port forwarding. If it's just a few friends, it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I'm not familiar with Rust servers, but if you're just looking for a Minecraft server for a few friends, you won't need more than 2-4GB of RAM. This should leave enough space for the server on a decent machine. Small Minecraft servers put very little strain on the system. If you need assistance setting one up, feel free to ask. I've created several small servers for playing with friends and have some experience with them.

as long as the pc has sufficient power, the number of servers running simultaneously doesn't matter.
