Server hardware reserved 2019 supports 32GB RAM. 16GB allocated. Confused?
Details: Operating system – Server 2019; Motherboard – gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P; CPU – AMD 8350FX with 8 cores; RAM – 32GB; GPU – Firepro V3900 (budget card, no built-in graphics); Storage – 5 x 4TB drives plus one WD SSD; Intel 4 port, 1G LAN, PCI card; Hyper-V support for 3 virtual machines (Server 2019, Linux, PFSense); Power supply – new Corsair 750W.
I attempted every possible fix to free up the reserved memory: 1. Replaced RAM one by one, each time seeing a drop to 16GB; 2. Used msconfig to disable max memory; 3. Checked BIOS for XMP support and updated successfully; 4. Ran regedit to inspect system settings; 5. Experimented with page file sizes from 0 to 32GB, including virtual drives and using system-managed size. 6. Tried removing the GPU and resetting all dimmer switches, rearranging their order.
Still stuck. I’m exhausted and fear I might give up. Maybe a very basic solution exists—just need guidance before things get worse.
