Perhaps in the future, though not right away. I could face criticism for this idea, but... Source Engine has evolved into a highly interactive small-scale multiplayer platform. Adapting it for single-player would require significant effort, potentially matching today's standards in the triple A first-person shooter scene and maintaining the realistic style of older titles. It seems unlikely Valve would choose another engine for this project. I recognize your concerns, but I don<|pad|>'s perspective isn't fully aligned with my view. For instance, Portal Stories: Mel added a valuable character to the Portal universe without disrupting the official narrative, even as a mod (http://store.steampowered.com/app/317400/ ). Another viable direction could be a Portal VR experience.
