Hey folks, I own an Xbox Series X that’s been acting up lately. It all began during a storm, which damaged several gadgets—like the cable box, power supply for the Xbox 360, HDMI adapter, and my HDMI switch connected to all those devices. After checking everything, I was relieved the console itself seemed fine. But its performance has been off since. When I power it on, it defaults to a low resolution around 600p. Trying to force it to 1080p helps a bit for navigation, but there’s no 4K option. The 1440p setting just shows blank screen until I press A, which restores the original setting. The system even claims my TV doesn’t support 4K, though other devices and the HDMI cable work perfectly. Pushing it to 4K didn’t help either. I took it to a repair shop, thinking it might be an HDMI port issue, but I don’t want weeks of waiting if it’s not the problem. I’ve tested every HDMI cable I have at home, tried different TVs, and even used another console in the same port without success. No luck there. I’ve got a used console, so I’m not under warranty, and I’m worried it could be an HDMI controller board or something similar. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated—please comment below.
