I didn’t really enjoy my experience much. There were a few times characters appeared or came back that Geralt should have recognized, but I wasn’t aware of them. Fortunately, the in-game profiles or the relevant pages provide bios and key details, so you don’t have to play others to grasp the new ones. Still, I bought the rest during the Summer Sale and intend to continue playing them once I finish 3 (130 hours in, still not done lol).

When I’m unsure about something in a dialogue between characters—whether it’s about an event or a person—I usually look it up online. So yes, I think you don’t have to stick to previous titles.

The initial title is quite outdated. You might want to bypass it and view some YouTube clips instead. I recommend going with the second one—it remains a contemporary title and should be fun to play.

You're focusing on other titles, but there are many excellent games worth exploring. Some aspects of Witcher 3 might feel confusing since it references events from earlier games.

It isn't always mandatory, but it provides valuable understanding of the characters in the game. Playing Witcher 2 could be beneficial too—it enhances your experience in The Witcher 3.

I also missed the first one. But the second one is really great. I'm starting over with it since I think it'll take a long time based on what I've heard.

Witcher 3 is my initial Witcher, and I’m starting to feel tired. I’m thinking about quitting. Yet everyone claims the third installment is the finest Witcher... Perhaps you’ll understand.
