Selection of CPU options
Alright, sometime in May I'll have enough money to begin building (and actually completing) my first gaming battle station I have just about everything picked out and set in stone except for the procecer, I will have roughly 300-400 dollars for the procecer (prices be kind to me pls ) the ideal procecer would have a healthy amount of room for overclocking, solid gaming performance and a good amount of worksation power since I'll be running some blender renders every so often. I'm using a Intel chipset but I'll swap boards if AMD ends up as the more optimal and ideal solution. A reasonable tdp would also be nice, but since I'm going straight to water cooling and eventually a custom loop, it shouldn't be the defining factor I don't think. Edit:I don't have a mobo right now but the one I am looking at is the Asus z390 A base speed should be roughly 3.5 ghz Edit again: the overall budget for this build is 2.2k
Check back in May—Ryzen 4000 might be available then, possibly alongside the 10th series chips. Right now, a 3700X seems like a solid option. The chip doesn’t offer much room for overclocking.
No details on the chosen board or specific CPU speed were provided, only general feature needs.
You're asking about the specifics of your build. Are you sure you have a motherboard ready, and do you know your spending limits? Honestly, a Ryzen 3600 should cover both gaming and basic rendering needs.
What are you planning for your PC? Are you considering AMD over Intel? The price-to-performance ratio seems more favorable.
Ryzen 5 3600X is a six-core processor offering 3.8GHz base speed with a 4.4GHz boost. It retails around $240 and includes a solid cooler. Pair it with DDR 3600 or low-speed DDR 3200 memory, and you’ll achieve about 95% of the gaming performance of an I9-9900K right out of the box. If you can find a Microcenter nearby, they’ll have it at a lower price and offer various motherboard bundles to reduce costs even more.
What configuration do you have? If it's the latest version, you have several choices available. You might also want to keep an eye on Black Friday offers.
I updated the initial message with the additional details you provided.
