Hello everyone! After our discussion about the CPU cooler, I’ll use the link you shared. I need your advice on compatible motherboards. I’m planning to build a new PC with a Mini-ITX case—the Thermaltake Core V1—and plan to install a Ryzen 9 CPU. I’m unsure which model to pick, but I’m considering either the 3900X or 3900XT, or the newer 5900X. All of them have a 105W TDP, so I’ll go with the Noctua NH-U9S, which should fit well and provide adequate cooling. My main challenge is choosing a budget motherboard that can be shipped to Israel. So there you have it—your build mix-up. Pairing a top-tier CPU with a power-hungry mainboard isn't the smart move. Opt for a solid platform instead of chasing specs. ITX options add extra cost, so skip them if possible. Anything under 150-180W is a poor fit. I’d avoid the X570 and go with the B550 model (skip the active chipset cooler for quieter operation). Choices are limited since the ASUS ROG Strix B550-I still uses cooling similar to MSI MPG B550I. The ASRock B550M-I offers weaker VRMs, leaving you with the Gigabyte B550-I Aorus Pro AX and the ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming. Both are decent mid-range picks with minor differences. The Gigabyte model has stronger VRMs (2x90A vs 2x60A), supports more RAM, and includes dual M.2 slots. It also has a dedicated pump fan header, while the ASRock version uses a shared header. Memory support seems less critical at this stage. Both have two M.2 slots and similar audio components. The Gigabyte features a bigger SoC VRM package (ISL99390 vs ISL99227A), but that’s probably not a big factor. It comes with a USB-C 3.1 Key-A header on the front, whereas the Gigabyte uses a speaker header—why? The ASRock board includes a separate 2.5Gbps Ethernet chip (Intel I225-V) and a Realtek ALC1220 audio chip, while the Gigabyte has an AX200 for Wi-Fi and a Realtek RTL8125B-CG. Back panel connections are nearly identical except for an extra HDMI 2.1 port on the Gigabyte for the iGPU. I prefer the Gigabyte’s design; its metal backplate adds weight and style. In Europe it’s roughly 30€ cheaper than the X570, which helps. Among X570 models, the ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming is top choice, but it’s also unusual with an Intel LGA1151 cooler setup. The Gigabyte X570I Aorus Pro comes in second.
It's about what really draws you to the X570. It doesn't offer significant improvements over other options, particularly on mITX boards, but it does introduce more noise because of the additional fans. For me, the Gigabyte B550-I Aorus Pro AX or the ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming are better choices. I chose the former for my setup, though my CPU is currently under an RMA with AMD, so I don't have much to share.
