It seems you could have simply chosen a solid CPU memory controller. This board resembles the Z690 Apex, where half the components are subpar and the other half perform well. Most memory OC screenshots from ASUS boards look decent or average—can't reach 3800MT/s dual rank—and other vendors tend to be more reliable (except for my X570 Taichi, which ran well but didn’t lower tCL much). It doesn’t appear to be the only issue; some users face problems. If SLI support is important, the X570 Master offers better value, especially with dual BIOS options. While BCLK overclocking isn’t perfect, adding another 10MHz RAM won’t make much difference in an SLI setup.
Perhaps I only purchased mine for its price and included extras my -F didn’t have. I had good luck with my -F and my -XE performs slightly better. The 3800 dual rank worked well on my Strix boards. All but a midrange model of my Asus boards were solid and lasted. I also own an Asrock, its hardware is decent, though the BIOS varies by model. Those clock speeds differ, but I’m confident it functioned properly. I don’t have many old cards, but I could use them if I wanted to try again later. It’s helpful when many x570 boards restrict that.
You were referring to the x570 from MSI. The discussion hadn't updated, so I missed the full AsRock thread. AsRock offers both affordable and premium listings that are quite noticeable. Their mid-range options don’t stand out much but aren’t terrible either.
Everything seems fine, actually. These topics are pretty specialized these days. I own an SLi board, but I doubt I'll ever need to use it.
