Selecting a RAM kit [4x8 or 2x16] DDR4 options
Hey, I’m thinking about getting a new PC to build myself. I’ll source parts from the most affordable places I can find locally since shipping internationally is too costly. My main concern is getting 32GB of RAM. I have an ATX motherboard with four DIMM slots, so I can choose between two 16GB modules or four 8GB modules. I’m pretty sure I won’t need more than 32GB anyway.
For the RAM, I’m considering a kit like Force Delta RGB DDR4 3600MHz. I want to fill all four slots for a sleek look, but I’m curious how that might impact performance. If it hurts things, I might go with two 16GB sticks instead.
Here’s what I have in mind:
- 1x16 kit – $33
- 2x8 kits – $37
I’m leaning toward the RGB option for style, but I’ll double-check if it’s worth it. The case will be Teamforce Delta DDR4 3600MHz. I also plan to add an i7 12700K, B760 DS3H AX DDR4, and an MP33 Pro 1TB NVMe drive. I’ll use Asrock 3080 or PNY 3080Ti for the GPU.
I’m considering a Cooling Frostflow 240mm fan, but it won’t be RGB. I’ll keep it simple and just place it sideways in the case. I don’t mind too much RGB.
Any other thoughts?
