Checking the MSI MEG X570 UNIFY showed it's hard to find a more affordable or superior board with that many M.2 slots. The Gen 4 reviews seemed reliable too. Any suggestions? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/J8h2K3 My aim is 3-4 M.2 drives for a raid setup with the two main drives for important files. Most of the storage is meant for media and movies. The MEG B550 UNIFY could be a better option, but I’ll need to upgrade my CPU to the 5600X as well.
MSI and GPU boards are facing some performance issues lately. While a few MSI models still receive decent reviews, they often fall short of expectations. Asus may have a higher rating, but their overall performance and reliability have been more consistent. Let me know what features you need for the motherboard, your budget range, your location, and any other components you plan to use. yeah sorry i was making the post before i had to drive for about 30 minutes to think on it. had a pc part list made for it https://pcpartpicker.com/list/J8h2K3 the only thing thats new and going into it that i bought recently due to Christmas sales and amazon gift cards are the noctua fans im buying, current board is a x470, need the extra m.2 slot and the capacity to upgrade to gen 4 drives is nice. one of the samsung m.2s i didnt buy yet, incase a 980 pro went on sale. budget is around that 350-425 range. goal is to get as many M.2s so i can replace all of those sata drives since i have a linux and a windows OS on the 500gb, to have at least 2 tb of storage for each. linux will have all the hard drives and the old SSD i have for movie storage. I bought that case so that in a few years i could move linux to a small ITX board. PSU is very overkill but it was on sale and i got a employee discount Ideally i can get 4 m.2s. but seemed either rare or on much too expensive boards
