Currently I have a motherboard without a built-in Wi-Fi card, so I purchased one myself. It isn’t the best, which is why I’m reaching out for your assistance. I require a Wi-Fi card that supports NBN. Thanks! Also, could you please select options from the link provided? Just use Ctrl+F and type "network cards" to find them. Appreciate your help!

I don't have a specific motherboard, but I can help you identify one if you share details like brand, model, or specifications. What are your options?

Are you getting it directly from the MSY shop? If not, there’s little incentive to purchase from MSY. Their site hasn’t been refreshed in ten years and they risk losing clients if they can’t match other competitors. The issue might not be the wifi adapter itself. Connecting via Wi-Fi isn’t always reliable, as several factors can lead to poor performance. Things like your router model, distance from it, number of devices on the network, nearby neighbors using the same frequency, interference from other gadgets, and even NBN or ISP problems such as congestion can all affect connectivity. Sometimes the problem lies with your internet service provider or the type of connection you’re using. Are you able to connect through Ethernet? Using an Ethernet cable usually provides the strongest signal and supports gigabit speeds if your motherboard was manufactured recently.

I’m preparing for a switch from Naked DSL to NBN. My setup is near a router with some obstacles, and I can’t use Ethernet because it’s in a corner. Thanks for your assistance!

Seek a PCIe Wi-Fi card for best performance. If your budget is limited, remember that results depend on both devices (router and PC) and any additional signals in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bands.

Approximately $100 is a common estimate.

You’ll probably need to replace your modem or router once your NBN service starts. Your PC’s Wi-Fi card doesn’t require updates. Different Wi-Fi standards work with various network types. You should be able to maintain a solid connection even at 10 meters away. Do you have the model number of your current Wi-Fi card? This helps us understand its performance and why it might not be working optimally. Is it a USB adapter or a PCI card? What signal strength do you see on your computer (how many bars)? If it’s a PCI card with antennas, try moving them slightly and see if the connection improves.

I possess a PCI card and experience intermittent connectivity, receiving 2-3 bars with an ASUS PCE-AC55BT. The antenna is positioned on the table, which seems acceptable.

In my view, purchasing a new PCI card won't offer major advantages. Your existing device should suffice. It handles both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. If your router allows, experiment with switching bands to check for improvements. 2.4GHz usually performs better through obstacles and over longer distances; if you're on 5GHz now, consider reverting to 2.4GHz. (Check your router's web interface or manual for switching instructions) What specific problems are you encountering? Disconnects? High latency? Slow speeds?

I usually stay connected but sometimes experience slow uploads and long delays. Back when I played Fortnite, I kept moving around a lot.
