I’m planning to purchase either tonight or tomorrow. The key specs are handling up to 2.46V, working at around 2200MHz, and I’ll be using a 1x3 triple channel setup with 1Gbps ICs. I need to swap out my current RAM because it doesn’t scale well at that voltage. It will be a single-chip configuration for triple channel, so I’m limited to four options: Elpida BDSE, Micron DDR4/DDR5, Samsung Rev D, and an unnamed rebranded model. I’m considering Micron since it looks solid at 1.8V, but the timings aren’t great compared to others. If it does scale to 2.46V, I expect it to perform better than the Micron chips. The Micron Rev D seems decent at 1.8V, while Elpida BDSE and Samsung Rev D look promising at lower voltages. I’m leaning toward the Samsung Rev D because of its reliability, but if it can scale, it might match or surpass Micron. I’m also intrigued by generic RCM RAMs—just to get a 1x3 setup for around $3, whereas Elpida and Micron are pricier. If it scales, it could be a solid choice, especially since I’m mainly focused on timing performance. The odd pick is some generic RCM RAMs; the main reason is cost and potential resale value. I’m also curious about these unknown ICs and overclocking tricks, as they seem common locally. This isn’t for everyday use—just pushing performance to the limit.
