Hello, I'm facing a challenge with my PC setup. I have two GPUs: a Radeon RX 6700XT and a Radeon Pro WX 3200. I need certain tasks to run on one while others use the other, like background rendering during gaming. All my displays are connected to the 6700XT. The issue is that in power settings, only the 3200 appears as the high-performance option, and it also lists itself as power-saving. On Linux, I can easily switch GPUs via terminal commands. Does this work in Windows as well? Plugging in some displays on the 3200 might help. My system includes three monitors with specific resolutions and refresh rates, a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, and storage devices.

The device might enter a low-power state or dim clocks if no monitors are connected. Consider using a "fake HDMI monitor" adapter you can connect to the video card to simulate a display. First option on Amazon matches your keywords: https://www.amazon.com/FUERAN-Emulator-H...06XSZR7CG/. The tool lets you select the intended hardware for rendering or encoding, with defaults that still include configuration files. You can adjust settings to restrict an app to a particular video card by tweaking compatibility in the executable properties. Also, look into AMD Control Center for options to pick an executable and create a profile that runs only on one GPU.

I haven't encountered any issues yet and haven't discovered such an option so far. You're correct, most applications support this feature, though not every one does. For instance, hardware decoding in the browser doesn't let me select a specific one, and similar limitations exist with other options. That was the initial thought that came to mind.

You really don’t want an upgrade, but this could actually motivate you.
