Hello, I'm currently ordering the different parts to build my first PC. - I'm building this PC mainly to play FS2020 and future games. I'd also like to use it for web browsing, emails, excel, etc. - I've already chosen most of the parts and this is an ITX build (Lian Li TU150, RTX3070 (I'll use a 1660 GTX temporarily), SF750W, 32GB at 3200MhZ, 1TB SSD M.2) I'm creating this topic, because I've had a hard time choosing which CPU to go with . Here are the reasons why: - FS2020 seems to run quite a lot smoother with intel high end CPUS (9700K & better) - I'm assuming this based on t he following benchmark https://gamegpu.com/racing-simulators-/-...st-gpu-cpu and youtube videos (it's hard to compare using youtube videos, but overall the experience on I7 9700K and better seems to be smoother than with any Ryzen 3000 CPU, and at an equivalent frame rate, Intel CPUs seems to show a lot less micro-stutters ) Now, the obvious choice would have been a 9700K : + 50 Eur. cheaper than the 10700K + Its motherboard is also about a 100 Eur. cheaper compared to one for the 10700K (I'm looking at ITX Z490 vs Z390) + It's easier to cool than a 10700K However I'm a bit concerned with the lack of additional threads on the 9700K , it could be a problem in the future as next gen consoles would have a more modern micro architecture similar to a 10700K or a 3700X ... What do you think is the best option in my case ? Has anyone tried FS2020 on their PC and has any feedback ? Thanks
Multithreading is clearly the direction we're moving toward. Do you feel comfortable investing extra now for immediate gains, or do you also recognize the value of additional cores later? Also consider your upgrade timeline—if you plan to replace in five years or more, opt for more cores now and buy cheaper later if needed.
It’s not recommended to use the Ryzen 5 3600 XD with your Ryzen 5 3600. The XD model lacks the necessary features and support for optimal performance.
