It looks like the top choice is worth considering despite the higher cost. Adding black plastic film over the blue components would likely worsen the appearance, especially since those parts are crucial for the chipset and VRM cooling. The current look already has a noticeable GaMeRrrrr vibe, so it might not be the best idea.

You're focusing mainly on the SN850X setup already installed. The rest of your build is still in the planning phase. Regarding RAM, you're thinking about upgrading to a higher capacity model soon. As for ASUS, it seems like you're leaning toward waiting until September or October to place your order, hoping the x3D chips will perform well in those units.

From my small experience, the system is running smoothly. Adjusting RAM to 6000 caused no problems. Stability looks good during CPU-heavy games. Next week I’ll try CPU overclocking to test further.

Pcie 5 won't matter in 3930 unless direct storage comes. We're in 2023 and pcie 4 can't beat sata for shit in real world use. As for board, I love my Aorus Pro AX. I wouldn't buy based on the future as hopefully you'll keep your 7800x3d for years and enjoy it.

I'm discussing PCIe 5.0 for GPUs, not PCIe 5.0 storage. We're already experiencing problems with PCIe 4.0 8x cards such as the RX 7600 and RTX 4060ti, which have compact dies limiting them to just an 8x lane. When using PCIe 3.0 8x, their performance drops significantly. Nvidia is pushing silicon sales to boost profits for its RTX 4000 lineup, so it's unclear if they're following suit with newer manufacturing processes and architectures to push PCIe 5.0 8x, 4x cards all the way up to the RTX xx80 series. It might be worth $20-50 right now instead of potentially $300 in a few years after any component replacement.
