Hello! I'm planning to assemble a gaming and hobby-focused optical simulation/programming PC in the near future. It will feature a 7800x3D graphics card and currently, I'm considering a B650 motherboard. My requirements are:

- Available across Europe (from Ireland onward)
- Max budget around 250€
- Supports up to 2x32 GB DDR5 RAM at 6000 MT/s
- Built-in Wi-Fi is not mandatory, but having it would be helpful if I can skip buying a separate PCI-E Wi-Fi card
- ATX form factor is acceptable; the case will likely be Fractal North. Ideally, more than one PCI-E slot so future upgrades are possible. However, this seems unlikely.
- At least one PCI-E 4.0 x16 and one M.2 PCI-E 4.0 slot
- Preference for reliable options—Asus boards appear problematic due to past CPU and RAM issues, and their RAM configurations seem unstable at such high speeds.
- Gigabyte is not ideal either; they usually offer cheaper but less advanced models or more expensive ones.
- Steel Legend is within budget but looks quite unappealing.
- At the moment, I'm leaning toward:
- MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI – includes extra PCIe 4.0 slot
- ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-E GAMING WIFI – solid choice with decent specs
- ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI – another strong contender
- ASRock B650E PG Riptide WiFi – similar features, a bit less attractive

Gigabyte malware is also a concern but might be manageable via BIOS settings.

ASUS boards don't seem to offer much at this price point. The alternatives either cost less but lack features or are significantly pricier.

The Steel Legend is reasonable but looks quite unattractive.

Currently, I'm undecided between the B650E and a few others; I'm open to a B650E if future compatibility improves. Potential options include:
- ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-E GAMING WIFI
- ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI

FD North covers everything up to eATX (support not listed but possible). Think about using a B650e board for PCIe 5.0 compatibility. It could be less critical now, but with the RX 7600 and RTX 4060ti, higher generation support might be important. They may begin using more lanes on even higher mid-range cards because of GPU design constraints. Prices for B650e are close to what you expect, and you might discover better options. MSI or Gigabyte would work well, as I've purchased many from both brands in the past.

Have you considered alternatives under about 300€? You might want to skip the ASUS boards and explore other choices that fit your budget. The ASRock steel board is an option, but there are more affordable ones available.

It's a bit pricier now, but the PG RIPtide is still available. I've been really successful with my Asrock board and G.Skill 6000CL30 EXPO RAM recently—perfect performance.
