For a simple streaming setup with one camera and minimal lighting, the i7 10700k could work well without needing the more powerful options. The Ryzen 9 5900x offers better performance but might be overkill unless you plan to scale up later. Stick with the i7 10700k if you want a solid balance of speed and affordability.

For GPU-based streaming, you’ll need tools like nvenc or AMD’s equivalent. With a video capture card, you require a free PCIe slot and sufficient power from your PSU. There are no significant processor demands. For CPU-based streaming, a 12700k is more than adequate. I’m considering a 20100 for now. Assuming four streaming threads—plenty for other tasks—streaming games would need at least ten free threads, preferably high-performance ones. I might consider a 12600k since the OS can run on the ECCores and streaming could follow. Most modern games typically need around six threads; doubling that leaves room. If you’re streaming upcoming titles, a 12700k makes sense. A 12900k offers little extra benefit over the 12700, but it’s suitable for basic video streaming without games. It uses two cores. When it comes to streaming, speed matters more than just the number of cores. I’ve chosen the i9 9900K over the Ryzen 9 3900X for my dedicated setup. This means I’m sticking with what I already have—no need to replace the motherboard or cooler. With the 9900K I can stick with the same components, while the 3900X would require a new GPU and cooler.

When using your graphics card for encoding, streaming won't significantly affect the CPU, so the 9900K should handle it well.

The 5900X should work well for this task, I’m comfortable streaming even on a Ryzen 2600, so the 5900X will definitely cover it.
