Hi!
I’m new to watercooling and have limited overclocking experience, but I’m eager to learn both. I believe my setup is fairly capable and I’d like to push it further. Sometimes it feels slow, and I’m not sure why that happens.

Here’s a quick overview of my system:
- Motherboard: MOBO GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7
- RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000
- CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz
- GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Super Clocked Gaming ACX 2.0 6GB
- Power Supply: CORSAIR CX Series CX600 600W 80 PLUS
- Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 - High Air Flow Mid Tower
- Storage: A few SSDs

I’m seeking guidance on overclocking and cooling these parts effectively. I’m hoping to find a suitable water cooling solution. If my current case is outdated (it’s three old PCs), I’ll consider replacing it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Liquid cooling or custom water cooling offers distinct options, though often the general reader doesn't recognize the distinction between a closed-loop AIO cooler and watercooling setups. Many high-quality air coolers match the performance of these liquid systems. The marketing strategy plays a role here, as people tend to focus on "liquid cooling" and expect superior results.

think about upgrading to a premium PSU and check out Corsair's AIO water coolers. I'd also like a solid air cooler such as the Noctua D15 or Cryo Original R1.

I wonder how a PSU might affect my pc if there is a surplus of wattage. Maybe when the system is taxed while running games it pulls more wattage and comes closer to 600 watts?
Are there any benefits to one or the other regarding cooling? I have a non-stock coolermaster heatsink on my cpu, but i thought liquid cooling would be better. I was kind of surprised to read otherwise.

Liquid cooling or custom water cooling offers distinct options, though often the general reader misses the nuance when discussing closed loop AIO coolers versus water cooling setups.
Yes, several high-quality air coolers match the performance of many AIO liquid coolers.
This is essentially the marketing trick used for boxed AIO models—people tend to focus on "liquid cooling" and expect top-tier thermal efficiency.
