I haven't any interest in competing anymore. I've always favored resolution over frame rate, and my RTX 2080 works just fine at 4K and 3840x1600. My next screen will be a 144Hz version of my LG ultrawide, which would cost around $2000. I think I might prefer higher refresh rates than I admit. The differences aren't huge in Fallout 4. Above 60fps your character can't jump as high, and you can repeat the main quest several times without it feeling noticeable. In Fallout 4 VR, with a refresh rate over 60Hz, you need a mod to achieve higher jumps as possible. In Skyrim things move fast inside rooms, and in Skyrim SE enemies in dungeons start floating up if there are many of them. I'm quite an experienced modder with thousands of hours in these games, so I encounter issues that casual players usually miss.

I've invested countless hours in Skyrim and never faced such issues. Not everyone understands how to troubleshoot game problems. Everyone's preferences differ. A high frame rate isn't the issue for me. I appreciate the performance when it was available. I favor 1440p or higher since lag is a concern. My system runs a 2015 i5 at 3.0 GHz.

This collection is unlikely to appear in any standard search results. It’s something you’d probably never expect to discover. I’ve been checking that site regularly for some time now. I had no idea such a list existed there.

Many people ask for advice on improving their setup. You began using 4K monitors in 2015, mainly for work as a freelance 3D artist. Your choices have always been driven by professional needs since the 80s. Without a dedicated budget, you had to prioritize performance over personal preference. The first monitor you bought after the 80s was a 1440p at 144Hz, which sparked your interest in G-sync. You switched to a 3840x1600 model to test its durability against 4K, and it performed well. Most of your current games run smoothly at that resolution, though older titles that don’t use 21:9 are better suited for the higher frame rate. You’re aiming for a setup that matches your desired quality by year’s end.
