Hello, What currency and country are you considering for the budget?
in gaming, the 6700k remains solid, particularly when boosted and won’t cause issues with a 2060 super. (it may slightly slow it down, but bottlenecks are always present.) these components should work well together. if you’re planning a switch to another platform, consider Zen 3 and see what it offers. as for budget, workload—what matters most.
The purpose is to clarify the reasoning behind a specific decision. It helps ensure alignment and understanding in the context.
No budget constraints, focusing on USD and the USA. Just comfortable with it—I could give it a shot. Gaming is a priority, and I’m looking for a high-end build to handle ultra or games with high FPS.
I think the 6700k is okay now. You might want to hold off on Zen 3 and see what it brings, then think about switching platforms if needed.
For a pure Intel build on a tight budget, this option works: PCPartPicker provides the required parts. Key components include the i9-10900K processor, a suitable cooler, motherboard, RAM, and storage. Prices are listed with shipping, taxes, and discounts included. Overall cost comes to around $929.96.
Currently playing death stranding and monster hunter on PC (I didn’t mention VR games either). My PSU is 750w. I’m considering a CPU or Mobo upgrade because some sites say a 6700k isn’t enough with a 2060 and suggest more RAM and a stronger CPU. I’m also thinking about future-proofing since I don’t want to rush anything—it’s a long-term plan.
Bottleneck calculators are wrong most if not all the times. wait for zen 3 and check, if not then go with @Meganter 's list or a 10600k which is just as good in gaming as a 10900k especially when overclocked. and as for the board, check the gaming edge as well as that's a good board. but i would highly suggest waiting for zen 3.
