It's interesting... I really suggest the TP-Link Deco M5. I have an app for managing it, setup is simple, connects well, scales nicely, and offers solid speeds—should fit your budget.

hey thanks for your reply. The wifi speed within 6 feet is 186 mbps download speed and is 25 mbps upload speed. i'm currently waiting on my laptop to have some battery since it's the only portable device i can take and plug right into the router without the extension box.

It's unusual, but you're seeing a slower download than your cable connection. Plugging in your laptop directly into the router shows a speed of 62.69 Mbps for download and 25 Mbps for upload.
