Seeking quicker web connection.
hello everyone, i recently faced significant issues with my wifi. it doesn’t meet the demands i have. the coverage is very weak and it doesn’t reach upstairs. my download speed is around 340kp/s over a cable connection. i’m unable to stream youtube videos in 1080p while lying on the bed. i’ve logged into my router and set up two networks—one using 2.4ghz and another with 5.0ghz. however, i can’t connect to the 2.4ghz network even when i’m inside the add-on area. recently, my provider visited and they only fixed the tv, which also lacked internet access despite being just 5 meters away from the router. the router itself isn’t old—we had it about 2-3 years ago. should i upgrade to a better model, perhaps an asus one, or what should i do? thanks in advance.
To access another set of stairs, using a Wi-Fi extender is more effective than installing an additional router.
My budget is about 200€, but I'm feeling really frustrated with it lately. It's been this way for a few weeks now.
I'm currently on the second floor with a cable connection to a TP-Link router that's plugged into the wall. Soon I'll be moving up to the third floor, but the signal isn't strong enough there, so I can't stream YouTube or browse the internet effectively. The Wi-Fi doesn't appear on my iPad. Would you mind if I check if adding a repeater would help when the signal barely reaches the second floor?
Typically place one device per floor or every two or three rooms. Position it where the signal begins to weaken; check the signal strength with your phone. In a three-story building you’ll need two or three repeaters. New routers won’t solve the issue, not even the top models, as they usually only improve the second floor. If you have an outdated router nearby, it can also serve as a repeater.
Currently, I don’t have a router on hand. My provider replaces them during installations, so I’d suggest checking their recommended models. If you plan to add a repeater, you’ll likely need to adjust your network settings accordingly.
Visit TPlink and select an option from the "range extender" menu. No adjustments are required on the router; simply provide the extender's password for automatic signal replication.
they mention a download speed of 500 Mbit/s and an upload speed of 40 Mbit/s. which option offers the highest price and is currently available in our region?
