I'm facing challenges in finding buffered RAM with a total capacity of 64GB. The size doesn't matter much since this is for my workstation used for 3D modeling and rendering, including Blender. I prioritize low latency but am more worried about reliability, especially when running AI calculations. I'm planning a black and white theme build and need a set that matches that aesthetic. Usually, buffered RAM is designed for servers, not consumer-grade, but I’m okay with a black or white PCB or adding a heatsink if needed. As long as my cooler works, it should fit. My motherboard is a NZXT N7 B550 ATX AM4 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 GHz 8-core processor. I need something that fits under the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM cooler. Currently, I’m using two sets of Crucial Ballistix 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 memory. I’d like suggestions for more reliable options, and my budget is still unclear. Thanks for your help!

CPU and motherboard don't allow buffered memory; you're referring to ECC memory? It's unclear if the current Crucial modules are considered unstable.

I believed ECC was separate from buffered RAM

Some components use unbuffered ECC while others use registered ECC, but the motherboard and CPU don't support either.

I haven’t heard that the current RAM isn’t trustworthy, though I often work on big tasks and sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming.

Yes, it means having more than what is needed or available. For example, if a program requires too much memory, it won't run smoothly because there isn't enough RAM.

You seem to want a comparison between ECC Buffered and Non-ECC Unbuffered technologies.

It seems the software encounters issues and stops working even when it doesn’t hit the available memory limit.

I’d begin by checking your current RAM unless you’ve already done so.

The system doesn't allow buffered dimming.
