I’m considering updating my BIOS and vBIOS from the official Acer site to boost performance, but I’m worried it might brick my hardware—something I can’t afford. I’m experiencing slow loading times, like icons taking 4–5 seconds to load after a fresh boot, even with an SSD. I usually run my laptop plugged in for both gaming and regular tasks. Games occasionally lag or stutter, Rocket League often loses packet data during matches, but my ping is average compared to others—could that be a Wi-Fi issue?

I own an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 with these specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5600H
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050M (75W)
RAM: 8GB 1600Mhz
Storage: 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD

How much space is available on the SSD? What amount of memory is currently being used? What are the CPU and GPU temperatures?

SSD is operating at about 50% capacity with 123GB used from a total of 237GB. RAM is functioning normally at 5.5 GB out of 7.4 GB, though it appears to show less than 8GB due to unknown reasons. CPU usage remains stable between 2-4%, especially during light tasks like music, solitaire, or casual browsing. Normal CPU temperatures are between 44-48°C, while GPU stays around 43-45°C. Without air conditioning, these temps rise by 3 to 4 degrees. I didn’t record statistics during high load; if needed, I can provide results after a proper test. Updated: Checked temperatures while playing Rocket League – Celsius values: CPU 77-88°C (max 92), GPU 62-74°C (max 87). RAM usage is at 5.1 GB.

Verify that BIOS or vBIOS is indeed the source of the issue. Compare with others who have the same laptop model and check if they face identical problems and whether updates helped. Probably, updating won't fix the situation. BIOS only controls device access to the OS outside CPU and RAM setup, and once the OS runs, BIOS loses control. vBIOS works in a similar way.
