Seeking guidance for FF XIV RR.
Are there any FFXIV players present? First, should I consider the collector's edition—what makes it worthwhile and what does it include that could be useful? Second, here’s a suggestion on how to excel as a healer (White Mage/Scholar). This role is often considered the toughest among DPS, Tank, and Healer/Supporter, so mastering it can really boost your gameplay. You’ve usually relied on DPS characters in other MMOs, but this time you’re stepping into a supportive role—no other option seems to fit.
It mainly involves cosmetic adjustments and healing roles aren't significantly more demanding than other positions. Aggro is quite forgiving, and tanks can quickly accumulate large amounts of health. The main challenge lies in finding a balance between healing and applying some damage during tougher encounters (like Coil), which is especially difficult. The combat system has been simplified considerably. Overall, the game feels subpar since version 2.0 unless you're a fan of World of Warcraft.
You couldn't imagine all the bad healers I saw in the game... About being a good healer, just don't overdo it. Seriously, I know healers that go out of mp at 50% of some boss fights, while others that heal even better while not going all out (what a shocker) have enough for a full fight. And would I call it the hardest? Actually I wouldn't, tanking is harder in the game since it needs tank swapping in later raids which can be a huge pain in the ass (also healers and dps that don't wait for tanks to get hate, so they have to run around collecting enemies). But that also depends on your teammatees, some just don't want to move even if they know they'll get hit because hey, they got a healer, so that makes it harder a lot of times. The community is awesome, best I ever saw, few dicks ofc but 80% of the players are great, as long as you're not a dick yourself. About CE, my gf has it, in game mounts (Coeurl and Fat Chocobo), some minions iirc, artwork, Blu-ray "History of Eorzea", and can't remember anything more. But that's the boxed version.
