Seeking feedback from others who've used this ASUS board in BIOS 2305
I was planning to refresh my bios today but spotted a note saying rollback isn't an option without an RMA if I tried. I confirmed with ASUS on the phone that the only way to revert the BIOS version after this update is via RMA. Before proceeding, I'm reaching out to see if anyone using my board model with BIOS update 2305 has encountered any issues or found it successful. The lack of rollback caught me off guard, especially after seeing GN's video about ASUS's reliability with the newest AMD chips. I'm being cautious about ASUS in general. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and advice.
You're likely to find more useful info on Overclockers.net, which has a dedicated thread for Z690 Maximus boards and their latest BIOS updates: https://www.overclock.net/threads/offici...d.1794802/ Remembering the BETA BIOS era was risky due to weak memory support, but it might have been resolved—check your own setup. Just in case, update your BIOS only when necessary: if the current version causes problems, if a new feature is needed, or if your hardware needs upgrades that aren't supported yet. Updating can be risky without clear benefits. Edited May 12, 2023 by RONOTHAN##
Thanks for the suggestion! It's surprising I missed those discussions. With my current setup, it seems safer to keep using BIOS 2204. Since ASUS released BIOS 2305 for other boards and rolled back changes after many upgrades, it might be better not to revert unless something clearly goes wrong.
