Dear devoted followers, My companion isn't particularly into video games. She avoids shooters, RPGs, builders, and anything violent. She finds many game concepts dull and quickly loses interest. Even when she played Portal, she got frustrated by GLaDOS's "Stupid voice." The only genre she enjoys is puzzles. That's why I recommended Portal. However, every puzzle game she has tried seems too simple or just a time limit challenge. Interestingly, the only game that truly engaged her was 'Zork.' She didn't mind the black screen and white text; she appreciated the challenge and the need to visualize problems mentally—something she does often in maths. She is a Chemistry and Maths student at an elite university and genuinely loves her studies. She would like to play games with me because she values my company, and I hope we can share this exciting hobby together. Guys and girls, could you assist me? I'm looking for a mentally demanding game that involves complex math, logic, or deduction—something beyond just moving blocks or solving mazes. I want to demonstrate to her that modern video games offer more than just combat and shooting. Thank you.

Perhaps SpaceChem appeals to her when it evokes familiar work themes. It’s affordable to try, as the game is discounted to 0.99€. Alternatively, if she enjoys historical strategy, Paradox grand strategy titles might interest her—they’re intellectually engaging but not puzzle-focused.

It isn't available on PC unless you use emulators. Professor Layton on the DS and 3DS is quite enjoyable—though it can be fairly easy at times, with some truly inventive challenges hidden inside.

It might be The Witness, though I’m unsure if it’s more than just mazes and sliding blocks. Some puzzles could be quite tough, and I’ve heard there are challenging ones in the game.

It seems you're searching for a game featuring the Kerbals. I don't have personal experiences, but I can help you find options that match your interests.
