I’m seeking recommendations for video games that can operate smoothly at 720p resolution and a frame rate of 60 frames per second on this computer. (If you suggest upgrading components, it indicates you’re providing an irrelevant solution.) My system specifications are as follows: a Core 2 Quad Q9450 processor (running at an overclocked speed of 3.00 GHz), a GeForce GTX 260 graphics card, 6GB of Corsair Dominator RAM, and a 1600x900 monitor that operates at 60Hz – I am willing to play at 720p if needed.

I realize this might not be what you desire, but consider choosing a 750ti graphics card – it could significantly improve your experience. You’ll likely require a larger power supply unit for this, potentially costing around $200.

I realize this might not be what you were hoping for, but considering a 750ti graphics card could significantly improve your experience – it’s likely to make a substantial impact. However, you'll probably need a more powerful power supply unit as well… that’s approximately a $200 investment.

I prefer action games like first-person shooters and those with a third-person perspective. Receiving some assistance financially would also be greatly appreciated.

I think you're looking at games like Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Gods and Generals, Battlefield, Delta Force, Ghost Recon... early installments. There's also an old game called Operation Flashpoint, now known as Arma.
I don't know about free, back in those days i pirated all my games, garrrrr.
This is a beautiful game btw
