Seeking assistance with setting up port forwarding.
Seeking assistance with setting up port forwarding.
Hello, this is my initial message, and I’ve been struggling to configure port forwarding for the last three days. I’ve consulted numerous online discussions and viewed several instructional videos, but I’m still completely baffled. The instructions frequently contradict the specifications of my router, which is causing significant frustration.
My router's model number is VMG3925-B10A.
I’m attempting to establish a server on my computer for the game BeamNG.Drive, which includes a new multiplayer mod that I supported through a donation to gain access to a dedicated server for myself and my friends; however, I'm having difficulty setting it up and comprehending the process.
I’ve attempted to handle this independently, but I’m genuinely lost and require assistance. I recognize my limitations in this area and would appreciate someone guiding me through the steps or offering some support.
Section 11.2 provides instructions for configuring port forwarding on your router.

Essentially, port forwarding directs incoming traffic to a particular location within your local network.
For example, if your public IP address is 1.1.1.1 and your private network is 192.168.1.1/24, you have a game server running on the internal network at 192.168.1.10 with its connection listening on port 8443. You would establish a forwarding rule that sends any external connections arriving at your 1.1.1.1 address and destined for port 8443 to your internal server, 192.168.1.10, also utilizing port 8443.
Guess, I'm on my own for this. I've read enough of these guides to kill a cow and being sent away to another guide isn't helping me.
This is just another instance of people assuming we all learn the same way when some people simply don't learn by reading. Some of us learn by visually seeing it done. But, it's not your fault you don't know this as you've been led to believe that we all are the same or something. Not your fault and I'm not mad at you, I'm just frustrated that everyone I ask does the same thing, points me to a forum or guide that is the same as I've already seen.
I'll keep working and not trying to be a dick, I'm just frustrated that every single person I ask for help just tells me to read something. Gets pretty annoying quite fast. Thanks for the reply.
