Seeking an uplifting experience in a game.
NieR Automata really impressed me so much that I skipped playing any games for a week after finishing the main story. Whenever I encounter something great like that, it's tough to start anything new. I tend to prefer simple, low-intensity games after diving into intense experiences for weeks. For example, right after NieR Automata I tried What Remains of Edith Finch—a short, sweet casual title with a compelling narrative (even if it wasn’t happy). Then I picked up another short game, The Unfinished Swan, which is exclusive to PS3/PS4. I also came across Abzu and bought it a few months ago, planning to save it for when I need a break from more serious gaming. I’ve collected a lot of similar titles: Flower, Journey, Abzu, What Remains of Edith Finch, The Unfinished Swan, Unravel, fLOw, Firewatch, The Witness, and more.
