Seeking an uplifting experience in a game.
Seeking an uplifting experience in a game.
Yesterday I wrapped up Nier:Automata, which led me into what I refer to as "entertainment depression." If you’ve ever seen a TV finale or played a game you really liked only to feel life lacked purpose, that’s the vibe. Looking for a uplifting game to lift your spirits? Something with a clear story and satisfying conclusion, not overly tricky to quit due to frustration, and overall enjoyable—especially if it works well on a controller.
I don't think Fallout 4 is a great experience, and the plot really doesn't impress me. Thanks for sharing!
Katamari games, Damacy, Forever, Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, a boy with a blob head, The Secret of Monkey Island, Simon the Sorcerer, Little Big Planet, Super Mario series (especially Super Mario World 2 and Super Mario Sunshine), Yoshi games (Yoshi Story & Woolly World)
This game features an impressive art style and a compelling narrative without any dialogue. I appreciated the story, which reminded me of being a curious 12-year-old again. It was a relaxing experience that lasted around two hours, and using a controller made it even better. The levels are engaging yet not overly difficult.
You're looking for a charming indie title like Braid, Bastion, or Fez—something heartfelt and engaging.
I just completed the NieR for the first time (ending A). I still have to try the other endings. If you're okay with the genre or art style, I highly suggest: Dust an Elysian Tail (a straightforward game with a compelling story and smooth controls), Ori and the Blind Forest (another easy-to-enjoy title with a strong narrative), and The Talos Principle (a deep puzzle experience if you enjoyed Portal).
Keep going until the ending E appears; you only listened to a third of the tale. I’ve tried similar games before, so I’m considering ABZU and Fazbear’s. Thanks all!
