You're planning to install a 100ft of unshielded flat CAT6 cable behind your TV, which is a common setup. This should generally be fine as long as you maintain proper separation from electrical conduits. The main concern would be electromagnetic interference (EMI) from nearby power cords, especially if they're close or shared. To minimize noise, ensure the cable is routed away from high-voltage areas and consider using twisted pair if possible for better shielding. Keep the cable organized to avoid tangling with other wires.

When devices are connected through the electrical outlet, minimal electrical interference remains in the cable. Cat 6 offers good shielding and generally works well alongside wall outlets without complications. However, avoid bending or kinking the cable. If the shielding fails—often due to a combination of materials—the signal quality may degrade, affecting stability and data speed.

I’ve actually managed to run the cable, and I’m amazed by how fast it is. Getting 10-20 Mb/s more than my current plan would have been wise a few years back.

Unexpected nothing. My ISP offers a 20% surcharge on top of the plan. As long as the connection speed is available, I consistently receive more than the cost we pay.
