Consider titles like The Testament of Sherlock Holmes in a 3D format or Gray Matter, which involves point-and-click interaction.

These are both games with unique themes—one focuses on a wolf in a mysterious setting, the other on a sword and fantasy adventure.

L.A. Noire, Deadly Premonition, and Murdered: Soul Suspect are all in mind. The first tends to have performance problems on the PS3, while opinions about its quality on PC or Xbox 360 vary.

It's not exactly a mystery, yet it remains an excellent title.

L.A. Noire is the sole detective title I've played, as I'm not a big fan of the genre. It feels like GTA combined with the 1930s and a few other elements... with a few missing pieces. Still, it's a solid game. I'd recommend it.
