I have a Ryzen 7 2700X and am considering replacing it with an AM4 CPU. I’ve been thinking about the Ryzen 5 5700X because it looks more affordable, but could the 5800X be a better choice for just €30 more? Also, the new 5700X3D is still available but seems a bit pricier for my budget. I’m currently using a GTX 1080 and expect performance issues soon, so I’m planning to upgrade that too later. I mainly play games and don’t do heavy editing or work.

Verified if your motherboard matches the requirements and ensured your BIOS is current.

My understanding is your Asus Prime Pro X470 should work with the latest BIOS update.

The 5800X uses significantly more power compared to the 5700X, and the performance improvement is minimal. The 5700X offers better value at around 5700X3D/5800X3D when the cost is appropriate.
