Seek vintage copies of Corsair CUE and CUE 2 to restore the original K95W properly.
Restoring an older K95W keyboard with 18 G keys. The RGB model no longer recognizes it after using the updated iCUE version. It seems the firmware has changed over time. I’m unsure where to find the original CUE or CUE 2 software, as the Corsair site only shows recent iCUE releases. I’ve tried iCUE 3.38.61 but it still doesn’t detect the K95W with Firmware 1.15. Looking through my NAS for installation files only returns iCUE versions, not CUE files, even though Corsair lists them as Setup. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Yeah, the download option at the bottom of the pages keep taking me to corsair.ca and then I just get a blank screen after choosing keyboards. Wayback saved me a while back on another download that had vanished so that was my first thoughts. Also tried FileHippo and a couple of the other sites that used to host this stuff but Corsair stuff is hard to find. Makes me wonder if they filed copyright claims against them? I remember threads of forums about CUE v1 and CUE v2 not going well but many of those forums seem to have gone. Thanks.
I noticed a connection to CUE 2, but the downloaded file appears as an unusual MSI without the expected CUE version. It seems it might be from an older release like CUE v1. You can share the link if you need help with CUE v2.12.66, though I’m not sure if that’s permitted. Thanks!
Found some info on Softpedia that appeared blank before. It lists just K95 RGB and mentions the keyboard uses white LEDs, not RGB. Still can't get any CUE software to recognize it. After reading through about 300 pages on Corsair forums, it seems the LEDs can't be adjusted by software—only four options: off, 33%, 66%, full brightness. Even at 33% they're a bit bright. Hope this helps someone later.
