Hello, I'm on Windows 10 version 1809 with the latest updates. I'm encountering some issues but can't pinpoint exactly if they're hardware or software-related. I'm looking for someone with extensive experience across all Windows 10 versions to recommend the most stable release since launch. Ideally, I'd like the one with the lowest memory usage. Some friends suggested version 1607, but I want more options. Thanks ahead!

Change to GNU/Linux using WINE and a virtual machine, or revert to Windows 7 if feasible.

I previously attempted this, but my current motherboard doesn't support Windows 7. I encounter errors during installation, though I'm unsure why—my manual states only Windows 10 is compatible. There might be a hardware issue preventing it, but I'm not sure. For GNU/Linux, I haven't tried anything yet and don't want to start now because I lack experience. Could you suggest a more stable Windows 10 version with fewer problems and lower memory usage?

Windows 10 is essentially outdated, and we’re just having to adapt. It’s unclear if a Windows 10 GO version would make a difference, and it might not install the same way as regular Windows 10. For some applications, Linux could be a better alternative.

I completely understand your point about Windows 10 being problematic, but I'm currently facing some issues and need to pinpoint the exact cause without focusing on Windows 10 itself. I'm trying only the most reliable version available right now.

Performing a clean installation will resolve any compatibility issues, regardless of the version you select. Just opt for the most recent release.

I've already tested this multiple times, around three attempts. Even with Windows 10 version 1809, the same issues persist. I know version 1809 is known for many problems, which is why I chose a more stable release instead. I won't try the latest version 1903 since it's still new and likely unstable. What are your thoughts?

It seems like the message is unclear. Could you clarify what you mean? Are you suggesting a clean installation issue or a hardware problem?

We're discussing a Windows 10 version from 1809 that some users are experiencing problems with. A clean install won't fix the issue if the version is flawed, and I've already tried this multiple times. I'm seeking a more reliable option to clearly identify whether the problem is related to Windows or hardware, but I won't revisit 1809 or the latest 1903 version since they're still under development. Please let me know if you have a suggestion for a more stable version with lower memory usage, and I'd really appreciate it.

I believe I experienced the fewest problems with 1803 or even 1709. 1809 was also fine for me. I'm currently on 1903, but my PC has some hardware-related issues and it seems unrelated to Windows.
