Yes, it seems the issue is linked to the 8350 chip.

That was my initial idea, but I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. The bios back up the FX-8350 and 6300 since they share the same launch date, so changing it wouldn’t be an issue. Dead chip.

From what I can see, it seems like the seller should just replace it with another item.

We're all hurt, thank you. We're working on fixing these things so I can stop experiencing this.

Understand this well. For a little savings, why not consider the FX-8300? It uses the same core chip but handles 95W instead of 125W, and the main distinction between most FX chips is mostly about default settings and clock speeds—on desktops they generally perform similarly. The only noticeable gap isn’t significant enough for everyday use, but it becomes clear when pushing performance to its limits. I own two of these models and they work well with the right adjustments. Since I don’t rely on an AM3+ setup anymore, these would definitely earn their place for regular tasks.

The FX-8370E performed well as well. It had good low leak rates. Ambient cooling was effective.

None of the "E" chips are particularly high wattage, but they still perform adequately.

You can get a full Dell Optiplex on eBay and salvage the board along with an i7 3770 or even an i5 3470. The local buy/sell prices are around fifty dollars. Those old chips were in rough shape when they first came out, right? Hope that helps! Thanks for your understanding.
