While using Apex, my monitors suddenly shut down completely without warning. Even after turning off power and unplugging the cables, the problem persists. Restarting the PC resolved it. This began three days ago (August 15th). I rearranged my room on the same day, initially thinking it might be an outlet issue.

Specs: GPU – Gigabyte RTX 2080 Gaming OC, CPU – Ryzen 9 3900X, Motherboard – MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge, RAM – 32GB DDR4 2400MHz (Corsair Vengeance LPX), PSU – Corsair RM1000x 80+ Gold, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

I ran Cinebench and FurMark for about an hour to simulate load during gaming, but no disconnects occurred. I removed and reinstalled the GPU, deleted it, and redownloaded Apex. Plugged the surge protector back in after switching it on. Closed clipping software because the issue appeared in Event Viewer.

I’m considering other games to check if the problem continues. The only possible explanation right now is physical damage to the GPU or an Apex bug. If it’s Apex-related, I’d rather avoid buying a new card. Otherwise, I’m uncertain and need advice.

This sounds like it may be driver issue. (small chance of a low quality cable as well) You may want to start by rolling back graphics drivers, or if available testing other cables, it is also worthwhile to make sure that your ports are clean.

Thanks for your response! I just removed and readded my drivers. I hadn't updated them, but reinstalling brought me up to October 2020. If the issue continues, I'll roll back one update to check. I'm also planning to test different cables if it happens again.

The issue seems linked to Apex. I’ve reverted my drivers, performed stress tests on my PC, played Valorant briefly without issues, and changed Display Port cables along with testing HDMI inputs. The only crashes occur when Apex runs. I can hear other apps and sounds work normally, but the game stops entirely. I’m still able to pause Spotify and YouTube via keyboard and hear system sounds during navigation. I’ll test Apex on Origin and try playing Valorant with others to confirm. Unless I’ve overlooked something, it looks like Apex isn’t causing crashes otherwise—possibly a GPU problem or my expectations.
