TL;DNR is just a note, not a solution. The idea that we’re searching for something suggests there’s an issue—possibly a blockage. This means Windows Hello needs a trusted camera, which opens the door to a possible security risk. It makes me doubt Windows Hello’s safety. I’m counting on the answer being “no,” but I worry it might not be.

Windows Hello requires an IR camera for proper operation. The request for a workaround raises concerns about weakening the protection of your security system.

It seems like the idea is meant to deceive someone into opening their computer, but if a real loophole existed, you'd have to create it yourself. Honestly, my instinct is that it's just a trick to catch people off guard. At the end of the day, laziness might be the best approach.

If you're using a laptop, consider getting one with a 720p webcam next time. Edited June 15, 2020 by BhavikROGMAN Spelling mistake

Windows Hello is limited to certain webcams. A laptop with a 720p camera doesn’t guarantee access to the feature.
