Security considerations for Windows and macOS
Linux generally offers stronger security features compared to other operating systems.
Also, pay attention to what people are saying instead of focusing on the "demo" of wannacry on Linux.
Fair point. Still, the entire Linux distribution remains notably safer overall. Sure, there are exploits and weaknesses, but no operating system is completely free of them. Linux simply tends to have fewer issues, in my opinion.
The frequency of attacks scales with how popular a platform becomes. Microsoft has historically treated security lightly but has improved significantly recently. For mission-critical Macs, maintain at least three backup layers: bootable copies (preferably daily), continuous backups via Time Machine, and offsite storage such as BackBlaze or CrashPlan. While macOS faces fewer threats than Windows, this doesn’t mean Mac security is inherently better—it’s just that the current security landscape ranks iOS (unjailbroken) above ChromeOS (no chroot) and other systems.
