Security boot fails to activate
Security boot fails to activate
you recently installed a new pc setup with an asrock b650m pg ripley motherboard, amd ryzen 5 7600 processor, and kingston fury beast ram. when trying to boot, you ended up in bios and couldn't exit. after adjusting cms and enabling legacy mode, it worked fine. however, to turn on secure boot for windows 11, you need to disable cms and the launch option, but then the system won't boot. anyone have any ideas or solutions? thanks!
Ensure CMS is disabled and legacy mode is off before proceeding with troubleshooting.
Yes, you're right. The Windows storage has been moved from the old PC to the new one.
Turning it off prevents using the PC, just like you can't exit from BIOS.
We should focus on fixing the issue. If you want them enabled, secure boot will prevent this from working correctly. Please stop changing those settings.
Avoid this. Refuse to proceed. This path leads only to suffering and distress. Please reinstall Windows with the correct modern UEFI configuration—do not use CSM!
You're using a Windows operating system on an SSD that's not an M.2 SSD, so let me know what you need help with!
Ensure data is preserved, configure the CSM and secure boot appropriately, then perform a clean wipe followed by a fresh Windows installation from a Windows USB drive.
Your disk is configured with MBR instead of GPT, which is required for secure boot. It's time to understand this. After updating, you'll need to enable UEFI only in BIOS and disable CMS/legacy settings so it boots correctly.
