Is this ok? Where I'm really thinking about doing it is under the motherboard (i.e. in the gap between the back of the board and the case). I figure if the cables are taped down to the case, they have a smaller chance of touching the back of the board.

The area between the standoffs offers limited visibility. I wouldn't try to go back there, but that's just my perspective.

He mentioned it in a video around 4:14. He says it won't cause issues unless you have a lot of cable in the wrong place. It looks nicer, but it's safer to avoid problems.

It's not something I usually do, but I wouldn't lie if I said I hadn't swapped a few fan cables around before without any issues.
