Some users, including me, faced difficulties with the Windows 10 reservation icon. A recent Reddit thread shared a batch file that may help. Fix 2 resolved the issue, but the upgrade button wasn’t visible in the task bar. After applying the fix, check Windows Update and the reservation button should appear there. Download link: http://www.reddit.co...indows_10_icon/ Batch file available at https://www.dropbox....x_full.zip?dl=0 *Ensure you run the file with admin privileges*

The reason for reservations is still unclear. Offers remain available for free for a year after the launch, right?

It only installs Windows 10 and then informs you when the process is complete, prompting you to decide whether to install it immediately.

I heard that without reserving, the direct download wouldn't be accessible until some time after the scheduled release—perhaps weeks or months later.

I've attempted it, but it isn't a sure solution. I haven't encountered "windows update manager" before. You're likely referring to the standard Windows Update feature in System and Security under the Control Panel.

Yes, sorry. That is what I meant. I'll fix that.
