I have a young child exploring my home and often leaves my computer running to download big files all day. The issue is that the child suddenly appears near the PC and stops the download, leaving me with unfinished files. I’m wondering if it’s possible to secure the computer while still letting open programs run.

He could definitely give it a shot, though I’ve seen unreliable outcomes when background tasks are active while the system is paused.

Didn't stop the download. Also, with power-saving options such as turning off drives, it could be a bigger problem than the lock itself.
